About Me

My Work

As a landscape photographer, I strive to give viewers a sense of standing where I was when making the image. I am always searching for geometry and patterns in the landscape which usually informs my compositional choices. For most of my captures, I am a stickler for edge to edge sharpness which closely approximates how our eyes see. However, I am reminded to heed the great Ansel Adams and avoid sharp images of fuzzy concepts.

Biography

Early in my landscape journey, I shot 35mm film as well as 6 x 6, 6 x 7 and 4 x 5. Since about 2010, I have fully converted to digital and most recently to mirror-less digital both full frame and medium format. I am fortunate to live within proximity of several national parks and preserves. These locations provide me an endless source of image material.
